I like what he says at the very beginning, how we constantly think "What do *I* have a taste for?" It's this subtle way in which we live our life for the moment and not for the long haul. We get all me-me-me with food and then we crash, we burden the system, we burden those around us. When we can't satisfy the cravings we've built up through years of habit, we can't function. We make ourselves dependent. Food can be an addiction just as pervasive and damaging as alcohol.
